It was announced by the Met, New York this year that Alexander McQueen’s exhibition is the eighth most viewed exhibition that has been put on at the musuem in its 140 year lifespan. What an amazing achievement for the designer and what a way to show how treasured he was a designer, artist and creator.
TellusFashion love McQueen as much as any other fashionista/fashionisto and we still get goosebumps looking back at his collections through his career. Its fair to say that Sarah Burton is doing the designer great justice and has exceeded expectations in the seasons following his death, but I don’t think she will ever be able to surprise and shock us in the way that McQueen once did and truely deliver to the same extent of McQueen collections we once knew. As a fashion lover, I believe that his death is still a major loss to the industry and I don’t get the same excitement before a collection. TellusFashion are happy to see that his collections are still so significant and that they are appreciated as much as the likes of Picasso*.
