On my way from Athens to NYC, I am just thinking of all the things I have to do and it all comes down to “run fast to attend” as many events as possible, or beyond possible. Numerous fashion GPS and regular invitations have been reaching my e-mailbox ever since I applied for the MB Fashion Week as Press. I calculated everything in a strict mathematical manner in order to build up my busy schedule efficiently. I tried not to deny, not to skip, not to miss events, unless it cannot be done otherwise. During my flight I kept up repeating to myself how proud of my organizational skills I am, and how well it will work. At the same time, I sense the fact that it’s an adrenaline-raising process, and a stessful, fascinating, demanding, crazy, thrilling experience for me. I have to attend more than 40 Lincoln and off-Lincoln fashion shows, parties, presentations, shootings and the rest of the events. My fashion Radar page, an online service which aggregates most of my invitations in a clean and concise schedule is rich in content and it might get richer in the next hours and days as – even last minute – I am still on some more waiting lists. My first set of ‘to dos’ is the Fashion Night Out (FNO) events. The ‘city that never sleeps’ hosts on that night a long series of events, as most stores will stay open till 11PM or even later and after that happy fashionistas and shoppers will end up in fashionable bars and hot spots celebrating Lincoln Center’s one year anniversary as NY Fashion Week’s main venue. My original plan is to hit in one night various events in Soho, Meatpacking and 5th Avenue stores! Can it be possible? Never mind… It was! I just had one of the most amazing FNOs ever! One of the hottest parties in Madison Avenue was at Fratelli Rossetti’s where everybody was dancing non-stop, drinking bubbly and posing to the camera’s. Then I ve been to Brunello Cucinelli, and I had a wonderful time next to warm sweaters and cardigans in all kinds of neutrals. Rebecca Taylor had a wonderful party in the Meatpacking district and Indashio and DKNY and Dior, Agent Provocateur and Calvin Klein and an endless series of spots in the city! Oh I love NYC!
