Glasgow Caledonian University Fashion Show

Its always a exciting opportunity for TellusFashion to be invited along to fashion shows, but its even better when the fashion show is filled with emerging designers. This Thursday, the fashion school at Glasgow Caledonian University will be hosting their yearly fashion show which showcases the final projects from its 2nd, 3rd and 4th year students.

Last week I met with three designers to be featured in the show and I was extremely impressed by the sheer quality and imagination evident in their work. I can’t wait to see the full show and what the other designers have on offer.

This year the fourth year students were set a challenge to create a ‘cowboy couture’ styled kilt and excitingly 2 of these pieces were chosen to be featured in New York Fashion week’s Dressed to Kilt show (… needless to say the competition was high so I can’t wait to see them all on the runway!

If you’re free this Thursday and in and around Glasgow then definitely come along for what is promising to be a fantastic night

Calling all Fashionistas in Glasgow

Last year it was all about Thomas Sabo, the year before it was Links of London and their sweetie but for 2011 its all about Folli Follie – a links of london company with much more to offer in the fashion stakes and we love them here at TellusFashion

This Thursday I am hosting an event alongside the WONDERFUL Les Garcons De Glasgow and the fantastic Folli Follie and this is something not to be missed!

The event will be celebrating the launch of the stunning Spring/Summer 2011 collection with the exclusive launch of the new Global Campaign, fronted by Asian model and actress Gaile Lai. The whole idea of the campaign is to show you that you can pull off more than one look but still be the one girl! You can opt for classy, fun or rock and play about with each look with all the fantastic pieces on offer!

Hello fellow fashion lovers!  So it’s been a while since my last post, and I’ve just realized I’m the only blogger who has yet to introduce myself!  My name is Elizabeth, I’m a fun-loving Canadian who has just moved to Glasgow for a year.  I’m thrilled to be one of your tell us fashion bloggers as it gives me even more of an excuse to check out the fashion scene here in the UK! So without any further hesitation, I bring you my favorite finds of today:

Name: Shannon & Kelly
Location: Buchanan Galleries
Current Wardrobe Essentials: High-waisted shorts
Favorite Fall Trend: Fur coats
Shopping Haven: Topshop
Why we love it:  These girls look fun and original in their mitch-matched outfits.  With their funky headbands, shorts & leggings and fun accesories, they did a fab job of putting their own unique spins on some big trends!

Streetsyle: Glasgow – Tyler

Name: Tyler

Location: Kelvinbridge Station, Glasgow

Wardrobe Essential: Toms shoes

Why we love it: It’s casual, yet sophisticated;  we love the light tweed button-up top (RW&Co) paired with the cozy cardigan (H&M), and the loose tie that says “not too serious” (Marc Jacobs).  Top it off with a pair of jeans and comfy lace-up shoes (Toms) and you’ve got a great look for any fashion conscious guy on the go!
