Rihanna launch Reb’l Fleur at House of Fraser’s Oxford street

Rihanna’s new fragrance, Reb’l Fleur has been described as “an intense and daring fruity chypre, composed of sophisticated floral notes: tuberose, violet and hibiscus, – with a splash of coconut water, – over the light and smooth base, the combination of the final notes evokes the impression of warm skin. The perfume was created by Caroline Sabas and Marypierre Julien of Givaudan.

Looking at the outfit that she wore for the launch some would say she looked more like the monster from Disney’s Monsters Inc, instead of the normal fashionista we all love. It only goes to show, that even the best can also get it wrong.
David Beckham For H&M
From next year February, H&M will carry a men’s bodywear range designed by LA Galaxy and footballer David Beckham.
This isn’t the usual collaborations we’ve come to expect from H&M, instead it will be a long-term distribution partnership, that will be launched on February 2 2012 worldwide, in time for Valentine’s Day.
Beckham has since made a comment that choosing H&M to retail the new underwear was “the final piece in a jigsaw” of developing the range. “In H&M we have found the perfect partner to collaborate with going forward”.
Beckham was previously the face of Armani, where his four year stint as the face of its underwear line saw the designer label’s turnover double.
This is something we hope to see in H&M’s annual turnover after its launch.
As with past collaborations, such as last novembers Lanvin range which sold out within hours, after fans camped outside the high street chain for hours just to be the first to grab an outfit.

Daphne Guinness At The Exhibition FIT, New York

Daphne Guinness, one of today’s most original fashion icons, is the subject of the upcoming exhibition Daphne Guinness at The Museum at FIT. Opening on September 16, 2011 and on view through January 7, 2012, the exhibition will feature approximately 100 garments and accessories from Guinness’s personal collection, plus films, videos, and images, of and by her.
If your going to be in NewYork this September this is a good exhibition to checkout.

For those of us in England of course there’s London Fashion week to look forward to. I myself can’t wait, I’ve been trying to sort out a Burberry placement during that week as I think they do the best shows.
Though With my schedule it’s gonna be a bit crazy but will have to see, as I still need to arrange time off work.

Hey, my fashion junkies are you ready for another weeks update on the world of fashion. Well here goes.
Gossip!!!!!
If the fashion rumour mill last week should be believed, John Galliano next gig could be designing for Topshop. According to Vogue UK reports that Sir Philip Green and Galliano, where in early stages of the discussion while attended their mutual friend Kate Moss’s wedding. Unfortunately Sir Philip Green himself has now commented: “I saw John Galliano at Kate’s wedding last Friday. I did not discuss any business with him then, nor have I since.”
Well that sure stops that rumour. Now on to the next!!!
Rihanna the new face of Emporio Armani Underwear!
Rihanna takes over as the new face of Emporio Armani Underwear replacing Megan Fox, who replaced Victoria Beckham as the face of Emporio Armani Underwear and Armani Jeans in October 2009. Graciously though Megan is now stepping down to make way for new Armani face Rihanna, who was spotted meeting with Roberta Armani in Milan in May.
Apparently her first campaign for the brand has already been shot on location in New York and is set to launch worldwide in September.

Alexander Wang’s second ad,Gritty Fall 2011 Campaign, where Fabien Baron shot Zimmermann in an abandoned grain factory from the ’20s in Red Hook, Brooklyn.
Karl Templer, was at the shoot and talks about Wangs direction for the scene as “something really gritty and raw to contrast with the polished richness of what we showed on fall runway.”
The accompanying campaign video, set to a soundtrack of SebastiAn’s “CTFO” featuring MIA, was projected at several locations around Manhattan (Houston and McDougal, 14th and University, 14th Street and 8th Avenue) on Wednesday through to Friday this week.

Dare to bare…
Ladies, it’s time to tone up those tummies because the crop top trend is here to stay. Featured in the Spring/ Summer ’11 collections by Haakan, Chanel and Rachel Comey, the designers made the look their own in very different ways; Haakan in tough long-sleeved leather, Chanel with sheer panels and minimalist monochrome for Rachel Comey. So you better start those sit-ups girls if you want to be in with the fashion ‘it’ crowd this summer…

The A- listers have also been putting their very own style stamp on the trend, with some going all out and flashing the flesh, whilst others keep it subtle.
Ever the body confident Rihanna dared to bare both her midriff and perfect pins at the launch of her perfume waaay back in February. She paired the look with elongating nude platforms-see the never-ending legs are probably just an illusion, bet she’s got stumps like the rest of us…
On any normal person I’m sure this get-up would look frankly, well ridiculous, but on Daisy Lowe, it just works. It maybe the Versace credentials that makes this Aztec Print crop top and colourful high-waisted skirt combo look great, it maybe Daisy’s quirky style that pulls it off but it’s probably just the fact that she’s a gorgeous model.
